ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Opportunities are intended for Global Compact stakeholders unless otherwise indicated. 1. Caring Caring for Climate: Join the global business platform for climate action In 2010, the Global Compact will continue to build Caring for Climate, our initiative for companies seeking to demonstrate leadership on climate change. Chief executives who support Caring for Climate are prepared to set goals, implement strategies, publicly disclose emissions and help shape public policy. Approximately 400 companies from 40 countries have signed on to the climate initiative. All Global Compact participants are welcome to join Caring for Climate and participate in the next meeting of signatories (7-8 April, Geneva). Learn more about Caring for Climate. 2. Global Compact/IBA Video for Corporate Counsel: Seeking input The Global Compact and the International Bar Association (IBA) are collaborating on the development of a video designed to educate corporate counsel on the role that attorneys can play in the corporate sustainability movement. The video will be divided into four sections, covering each of the Global Compact’s principle areas. UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2010 (24-25 June, New York) The UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2010: Building a New Era of Sustainability will bring together chief executives with leaders from civil society, government and the UN to elevate the role of responsible business and investment in bringing about the needed transformation to more sustainable and inclusive markets. Global Compact Asia-Pacific Regional Conclave 2010 (15-16 March, New Delhi) Organized by the Global Compact Network India in partnership with the UN Global Compact Office, the event will gather representatives from various sectors across the region to explore the role of the Global Compact in facilitating and enhancing engagement of business in the Asia–Pacific on Responsible Business initiatives. Second Meeting of Caring for Climate Signatories (7-8 April, Geneva) Convened by the UN Global Compact, the event will bring together Caring for Climate signatories will share practices in managing risks and opportunities related to climate change, poverty alleviation and global issues. The event will address implications of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP15) for business, as well as prepare Caring for Climate Signatories for the Global Compact Leaders Summit on 24-25 June 2010.
